Teleliban TV station, one of the oldest and most important stations in the middle east and the
first one in Lebanon, has suffered many problems and has been left to rust since 1975. The main
structure existing in Hazmieh was built by the British back in 1960’s influenced by the modernism
movement created by le Corbusier, as it is designed with simple white structure, free façade,
internal courtyard and many other features related to the modernism style of design.
The design initiative was to keep the building as is and get it back to its initial condition without
removing the main line of architecture. In the interior part, the main entrance was re-designed
using a contemporary approach inspired by Teleliban’s past, current and future condition. Using
pixels, as a main pillar in visualizing the past and future, the entrance was designed vibrantly
through colorful walls which change according to the even taking place, while creating a dancing
TL logo in the ceiling celebrating the revival of Teleliban. The cafeteria was designed using
vibrant colors, according to Mondrian style as a guiding design element while opening up toward
an exterior courtyard.
The exterior was brought back to its mint conditions, the windows were replaced by black
aluminum since they were damaged during the war, while the interior courtyard between the
office was transformed into a green area for the employees to refresh.
The entire infrastructure was re-designed to fit the new technologies and re-introduce Teleliban
as a leading TV station in Lebanon and the middle east.
