Project: Villa M
Footprint: 600m²
Built-up area: 1870 m²
Category: Residential
Address: Saudi Arabia, Jeddah
This project meant to create out of a residential building, a Luxurious villa for 3 families sharing 3
different apartments. The intention was to create a modern architecture within a traditional
neighborhood trying to create a blend between both cultures. The design is simple yet elegant,
having a central vertical circulation linking all apartments.
Large openings are designed to break the traditional architecture while keeping metal shading devices inspired from the Mousharabiah to provide additional privacy. An internal water element is created on the balcony taking into consideration the privacy of the tenants by securing the perimeter from all sides. The central circulation element is also shaded by the m\Mousharabiah while the lower floor is hidden behind a well-designed enclosure. Wood, Travertine and Basalt are used as a blend of materials to create this synergy.
